I had to have my deck railing removed and re-installed. When it was done, almost all of the lower trim rings broke. I couldn't find any replacements. Even if I did, I would have to have the railing removed again, then re-installed (not cheap). So I built this two-piece set: the larger piece is set into the bracket from the top, then the lower bracket is brought up, and the latches engaged.I prototyped in PLA, but have just finalized my settings for using ASA, which I think is the best plastic for the outdoor use it will get. Printing in ASA can be a little tricky, but I have my settings pretty much dialed in. I have also created some Cura projects so that I can print 3 of the larger pieces at one time, and six of the smaller pieces at one time. I'll see if I can add them; YMMV. Since I need a minimum of 72 for the project, this allows more production with less manual time. Some specific changes I did:- Added Creality's large flexible enclosure for temperature stability. It does warm up from the bed, and no air currents come through.- Replaced the glass bed with a PEI bed. It makes it easier to remove after the print.- Especially if I remove the PEI sheet to get the pieces off, I'm now re-leveling before a print run. I also make sure that the print head actually touches the bed on each point; I've had a couple of times where it doesn't, and thinks the bed in that area is much higher. Below are my dialed-in settings, including changes to the ASA profile.:Printer: Creality CR-6 SE with Creality flexible enclosure.Filament: Inland/Polymaker White Polylite ASAExtruder Temp: 240Bed Temp: 90Print speed: 40 mmBed adhesion: brimSupports: Yes, but in Cura, I use overlaps to eliminate supports everywhere but the latches. I do get a few stringers due to the lack of support, but there's no practical impact. Supports will get rid of it, but with more plastic and time.EDIT: I just started installing them on the rails. They look great! (I've added pics)
