You know the patio table you have that has a hole in the middle? The collar it (probably) came with has a technical name... who knew right?! It's called an 'Escutcheon' (pronounced S-cut-chin). Odds are that your original escutcheon either blew away or cracked apart after a few months. Here's my story...
We had a large 8 person deck table we really liked, however a Texas hail storm shattered the slate on the table. The frame was heavy duty and solid as could be, so I was trying to think how to reuse it. As luck would have it, we had some close friends redo there kitchen and had a pile of beautiful granite that was trashed. I took that granite and cut four panels to seam together a new table top.
I next used a carbide tip hole saw and cut a hole for our umbrellas, but hated the raw edge. So this escutcheon was made.
Two notes:
1) The base of the escutcheon is not flat as my granite had changed height by 1.5mm where the slabs met.
2) I assume your name doesn't have 'Harvey' in
