Knots created by my OpenSCAD knot generator
http://kitwallace.co.uk/3d/knot.xq
are polyhedra and thus can be decorated by the application of Conway and other transformations. A few are illustrated here.
kis-trefoil.stl : kis(knot,h=0.05)
dippled-unknot : inset_kis(knot,r=0.3,h=-0.05) // knot has phase=45 and elliptical torus
open-cinquefoil : openface(knot,outer_inset_ratio=0.4,depth=0.1)
figure-eight-tyre: inset(knot,h=0.05)
To create others, choose the required knot, check the conway operator option, download the OpenSCAD code and insert the required transformation.
Knots are more twisty than necessary, a fault I have still to cure.
This work prompted by mathgrll 's spiky Perko knot

Don't ask me how to print these things on a FDM printer. Mine's not functioning at present anyway. For that see mathgrrl !
