This model exists, cause a buddy gave me the antlers as a present for my new home. Problem was the rest of the deer’s head was missing. So I’ve decided to design a new one. The head itself is made out of beech-tree plywood and the wall-shield out of 128 years old german oak-tree (Thanks grandpa to leave this in our barn, I miss you, rest in peace). I’ve glued thread inserts in the antlers and connected them to the head with hinges for machine frame construction. To get an accurate 3D-model of the antlers I used the 123D-Catch-app from autodesk for android. The thing is hanging at my hall and it’s stable enough to use it as a wardrobe. For christmas Rudi also gets an santa-clause-hat ;-)
