The Deformable LED Lights provided by AliExpress provide great lighting for a workshop or garage, but the lights themselves can be painful to look at directly. I designed a diffuser to clamp on to the aluminum LED frame. The front face of the diffuser is offset about 1cm from the LEDs.
I'm using the 100W variant of the LED light with the diffuser, and the diffuser does not get over 30 degrees C (warm to the touch.)
I printed these in white PETG because I didn't know how hot the plastic would get (turned out to be a non-issue). I have not attempted to print in PLA, but there is only a little deflection when you snap it on, PLA would likely be fine. Print with 4 vertical shells, the front face is only 2 layers (.45mm) thick, infill doesn't really matter due to very little infill volume. I used a 0.2mm first layer and 0.25mm for subsequent layers.
Using a colored or translucent filament would likely give some cool effects!
Fusion 360 file is included if you
