Zero Clearance Insert for the Delta Model 34-670 10" Contractor's Table Saw. This can be machined from phenolic, aluminum or acrylic stock. A ZCI is used to provide a smooth, gap-free work surface on the saw without a space for narrow cut-off pieces to fall down in and possibly get wedged and thrown out.

The insert is installed on the saw, then a board is clamped across the top. With the blade set to 90 degrees, the saw is turned on and the blade raised slowly to maximum height, cutting a custom-fitted slot into the insert.

Ideally a ZCI should be customized for each specific saw blade or dado head. They can be purchased for under $30 each, but if you have access to a milling machine you can make your own for less. It also fits Delta 34-740, 36-380 and 36-600 models, as well as Jet JSL-10TS saws.

Dimensions are derived from measurement of my saw, and the Leecraft DL-2 insert. Source files are included, since you may need to tweak the dimensions slightly to account for machini
