Couldn't find a desk vise I liked, so I made this one.
Doesn't take a billion handle turns to move the thing back and forth.
Dovetail ways design, flat surface on the main body for hammering things, and four holes in the main body for screwing it down to your desk or workbench.
After some trial and error, I ended up splitting the lead screw in half due to shearing issues when clamping force was high. This solved the problem, and now this thing clamps so hard it'll break your finger—great for holding other prints while removing support material.
Print settings recommendations:
Material: PLA+
-Lead screw: 100% infill
-Lead screw cap: 100% infill (this part takes the brunt of the force from the lead screw)
-Handle: 100% infill
-Main body and clamp piece: infill is up to your discretion depending on your desired vise strength. If using lower infill, I recommend a higher wall count.
-Only supports needed is on main body
Assembly:
-Slide the clamp into the dovetail for alignment, then
