I needed a solution for my recording microphone on my desk/ bench-top. I designed 2" long bushing with a .475" center hole to fit a cheap articulating mic stand. The upper flange is 1.25" in diameter and the tube OD is .75", so you will need a 3/4" and a 1.25" Forstner wood bits and a drill (spade bits will do if you are REALLY careful). Leave it 1/16" proud (google is your friend) above your desk or bench so the stand rides on the print and will not scratch or gouge your work surface. Could also be used as a desktop camera stand for blogging of filming.
I included a second very similar bushing for an arm with a .51" mounting post instead of the .475" one. If you have one of the articulating magnifying lamps, this is the size you will need for that. Same drill bit sizes and installation steps.
