This indicator was purchased recently to help with the setting up and adjusting my 3D printer. Here's the link to the mounting bracket. https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2801415
After I had built the bracket and finished setting up the 3D printer I realized that some kind of case was needed to store the indicator to protect it from falling off my desk. It occured to me that instead of a box to hide it away that it would be more interesting to turn it into a piece of lab equipment and design a functional base and handle to allow use as a measuring device. Also known as a Dial Comparator, upright dial gauge and thickness gauge.
This is a really simple version of the device and to that theme it was created in Tinkercad.
