Because dimensional accuracy is a difficult balance between the printer motors precision, the filament and the slicer settings I design this test to help calibrate my printer as fast as possible with a quick print.
This is a ~15min print test and with it you can measure :
- DIMENSIONAL PRECISION IN THE XYZ AXIS
- box size is 20x20x15mm
- bottom hole and corresponding circular peace is 10mm diameter ( 0 tolerance )
- side square hole and corresponding peace is 6x6mm ( 0 tolerance )
- side circular hole is 6mm diameter
- FLOW PRECISION
- box wall is 0.8mm ( best size to test 0.4mm nozzles )
- HORIZONTAL EXPANSION AND HOLES EXPANSION
- this is great to find the balance between horizontal and hole expansion in Cura
- if the box has the expected 20x20mm and the circular peace perfectly fit the hole then your horizontal expansion is perfect
- VERTICAL HOLES PRECISION
- this test is best fit to tune your Z axis
