Direction detector for incremental encoder

This circuit takes the two output channels of an incremental encoder at the two inputs, and depending on which direction the encoder is turning alternates the logic state of the two outputs. PS: I know I didn't make the best space distribution and it can be made smaller using SMD components, but I think the most useful thing is the schematic.
