DIY light box // 95+ CRI led strip // 3000K - 5800K // 2160lm // 10kHz PMW dimmable
I made these lamps mainly for photogrammetry, as I needed lots of light from all sides of the objects I was scanning. I've used though "high quality" Chinese led strips giving quite pleasant light in the range from 2800 to 5800K and high frequency speed controller to get rid of the stripes when the lights are dimmed. Thus the lights are perfect for any kind of photography (mainly portrait actually) and also for a daily use as a desktop lamp, when used with the arms https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3424803
I printed all parts in PLA, as i never measured temperatures above 40C and I doubt the parts will ever fail because of heat. Anyway, it's probably a good idea to print them from ABS. As your parts get printed, cut the aluminum profile in 250mm long pieces. The LED strip should be cut in 200mm pieces. Stick the strip to the profile leaving more distance from the side of the electronics. When y
