This is more of a concept than a model you’ll necessarily use as-is, but it’s something I hope you’ll find useful. I often struggle when models require supports. They tend to waste material, appear in places I don’t want them, stick too firmly, leave ugly marks, and cause a handful of other issues I won’t list right now.Yes, slicers offer tools to control this, and you can even add custom support blocks - but even then I often end up with so-so results or run into the same problems again. While updating a few of my own designs, I hit a case where I needed a very small support for a tiny area. The moment I enabled supports, I got way too much everywhere, and I was facing the time-consuming chore of manual tweaking. That’s when I thought: wouldn’t it be simpler, faster, and more controllable to build the support myself, right into the workflow?Hence this little example. I made a small “extra” part - separate from the main model - that is quick to place/build, sturdy enough to stand on its own without becoming bulky (read: not as overbearing as auto-generated support), touches the model exactly where I need it, and only so lightly that it snaps off on its own without leaving marks. So, take this tiny example and let it inspire you to design your own support pieces whenever you need them, instead of relying on the slicer’s rather heavy-handed approach.Good luck!
