DIY Microscope Holder
--------------------------------

This is a cheap holder/stand I made for my used and dented (but cheap :P) stereomicroscope.

uses 2 smooth rods and bearings commonly used in 3d printers. The bearings are fastened to the middle part with zip ties through the provided holes.

Linear Bearing:
24mm length
15mm diameter

Shaft:
8mm diameter.

For the base I use a leftover base of an old desk lamp which is nice and heavy, and a M10 threaded rod. The rod has one nut on which the middle part rests freely, and can be used as a focus adjustment.

The front ring has an inner diameter of 50mm which fits my microscope.

The point of this was not to win any beauty contests, but just to have something so I can use my microscope, and it seems to work well enough.

Update:

V2 holder has room for the added 'knob' which embeds a M10 nut.

This makes movement down more precise, because the nut pulls the holder down.
the middle hole for the M10 rod was
