Overview:
I have been looking around for DIY ventilators for a few hours and was surprised with the lack of simple designs that can easily be assembled by anyone. I decided to put together a quick open source design that anyone can assemble and try out. This hasn't been tried yet, so will require a lot help testing to see if this could even work. The tough part would be accessing a laser cutter and purchasing the motor hardware.
Features:
Adjustable stroke length
Adjustable speed
Easy to assemble
Help needed:
Fabricators
Testers
Designers
Medical domain
Disclaimer:
This has not been tested and I am not a medical professional. This design is just a start and the hope is to get other experts involved to improve the design.
The Aim:
Design a ventilator that can be laser cut and doesn't require a single bolt or tool to assemble.
Additional needed hardware:
Laser cutter - Any household laser cutter that an cut plastic, wood or metals.
Motor controller - DC 12V 2
