A membranophone horn. A membrane of thin rubber is to be stretch over the top, and a tube is attached to the bottom. When blown, the membrane vibrates.

This updated version has an improved mouthpiece, tapered attachment tube, larger membrane, and a curved membrane interface. In particular, the membrane interface (what I'm calling the place where the blown air directly contacts the membrane) should make the instrument more responsive, easy to play, and produce clearer membrane oscillations.

The tapered attachment tube is interesting, because when we lower the output cross section of the main body, we're pressurizing the main body separately from the resonating tube. If you think of the air in the body as a spring, we're basically adding weight to it. This lowers the membrane's pitch.
