Required width can be easily set with the help of two pins provided on each side. It also prevents the rolling of barbell. Since the width adjuster does not take any direct load, it can be made up of any lightweight material, such as aluminium. The back support (or I call them as pillows) can be made by using compact foam. They are lightweight and easily take shape of the back. They can be set for required shape with the help of fasteners. Material used for the plates and the sliders can be steel. The locking mechanism is very easy to use and quickly releasable. No threads, no springs, no complex parts, saves valuable manufacturing cost. We just have to take the locking pins out, and the device is released from the barbell. Each part can be easily separated and replaced if worn out.
