Door Lock

This 2 stage lock was made for the redesign challenge for more peace of mind when locking the outside doors of your house also for when you are carrying something and do not have a free hand to unlock and open the door. This lock has secondary bolts that once locked, slides into the strike plate of the door to reinforce the door and to keep it from getting jimmied open. If the door is just regularly shut and not locked then the secondary bolts with not lock into the strike plate leaving it easy to reopen the door. This lock also comes with 2 fobs for when you get close to your door it will unlock itself and then lock itself when you shut the door. The door will not unlock itself when the fob is coming from the inside to the outside. The owner of the door still can unlock or lock the door with a regular key if they do not have the fob on hand. This lock will be universal, the only modification that is needed to be done to the regular door is drilling the new holes for the strike plate and the slotting in of the new internals. The final product’s internals will be made out of brass but can be ordered in zinc. There will also be the option of different door handles or patterns of the lock to fit the needs of the customer. This lock can be adapted to fit keypad locks or Norman doors. This Resigned Challenge was made by Austin Coleman and Tyler Buchan
