How to model through dovetails in OpenScad
Dovetail join is a standard joint in fine furniture that has been used for centuries. Furniture discovered in the tombs of Egyptian Phoaroghs includes dovetail joinery. This joint is still used in fine furniture to this day, any many people consider the joint to be the mark of the craftsman - even when the joint has been cut on machine.

Openscad function usage in your project:

make "pocket" of dovetail in your parts to break it in 2 joinable pieces.

usage:

As with anything, joinery requires designing in your tolerances. One the Mark Two, for most general purposes, a .08mm gap between each wall (.16mm diametrically) is enough to allow two pieces to consistently achieve a sliding fit. If one of your surfaces is held up by support material, try bumping up the gap to .15mm or so. Of course, 3D printed parts tend to vary widely, so make sure to unit test and prototype to achieve the fit you want.
