Drag Knife

This is my version of a drag knife cutter for use on the cnc. Two 608 bearings are pressed onto a 8mm shaft. The pocket on top of the cutter is sized so the two bearings are pressed in tightly. Other holes are sized for 3mm heat set inserts. They are used for the blade cover and to hold the blade securely. The cutting length is 0.25″ and blade offset is 0.1″.

Other available printable drag knife designs were either not stiff enough for thicker material, no blade guard, complicated bearing setup or doesn’t hold the blade tightly. The version available for download has a larger blade guard and the top two heat set holes are moved lower.
