Dragon Bonsai

Dragon Bonsai – Gothic Fusion This piece reimagines traditional bonsai through a dark fantasy lens, blending organic form with mythical presence. A dragon emerges seamlessly from the twisted trunk and roots, its body forming the living structure of the tree while layered canopies create a balanced, windswept silhouette. The base features a sculpted skull motif, reinforcing the gothic theme and grounding the composition with weight and contrast. The model was printed on a Bambu P1S using black PETG, selected for its durability and ability to capture fine surface detail across the bark, scales, and ornamental base. After printing, the piece was hand-painted with acrylics, using layered dry brushing and washes to enhance depth, texture, and realism. Metallic accents and color transitions were applied to highlight the dragon’s scales and bring visual separation between the organic tree elements and the creature itself.
