I made this model so that I could easily connect an RC model battery to my old Challenge BD2956 drill. I designed it to use a velcro strap to secure the battery. The battery will need to be able to supply upto 40amps at about 12v.
The base fits snugly into the drill body. To hold the base firmly into the drill body you will need to print two of the clips. I chose to make the clips separately to minimise the necessity for support material. I attached the clips to the to the base with 3mm nuts and bolts so that I could adjust the position for a good fit.
I used nickel strips to make the contacts, which I glued in place after I had soldered on cables which I routed through the holes in the base to a battery connector.
The cap is optional, but when glued on helps to reduce the danger of the contacts shorting.
