This is a thumb spool. If you are a diver, you know what this is for.
Thumb spools are not expensive to start with, so is the (at least for me) almost 12 hours of print time worth it? Probably not. This is more of a proof of concept - printer quality test for me. The interesting thing about this object would be being able to print in specific colors - which is the only reason making your own spools makes sense in my opinion.
This spool will hold about 50 feet of line. Will load it to confirm.
