This is a holder for my DSO 150 Oscilloscope that has a loop on top. I use it mainly for checking automobile sensors. I use the loop to hook the scope onto the hood and probe the sensors without worrying about the scope falling into the engine compartment. It's only a single channel scope with a 200kHz bandwith but it should work fine for most sensors.
For power I have a 7809 voltage regulator and a couple of capacitors in a little box that velcro's on the back of the scope and plugs into the car's lighter. For desktop use I have JyeTech's dc-dc boost converter that plugs into a USB port. If needed, I can always build another little box that I can also velcro to the back with a 3.7V Li-ion battery and the dc-dc boost converter.
