Dyson Step Handle

I was breaking my back holding our Dyson DC 65 Animal Complete vacuum to do our steps. I fashioned this handle to give me something to grab. This is a first pass but it does work. I used self tapping wood screws to attach the J hooks to the handle. I also used a heavy rubber band to keep the bottom of the J hooks from spreading out while lifting the sweeper. I used a rubber band that our grocery puts around broccoli, maybe yours does too?
