Update: I fixed the clips the hold the upper scaffolding to the three body units. The clips look small, but I have tested them. They DO hold up to clipping and unclipping the scaffolding - at leasts enough to adjust them - for glueing.
While the excellent revision of the Eagle Transporter by Mirco211 was very nice, it was not perfect for my Makerbot Replicator 5th ed. I did not need his supports and who doesn't fiddle with a model.
On my revision, I decided to remodel the 'vernier thrusters' on each pod-leg. I wanted them to be printed without supports and have cones free. Moreover since I wanted the model to print smaller I simplified the geometry so that they entire object when printed was strong enough to be freed from the printed bed and painted without falling apart.
I recommend printing this at 200% (or more) on a typical fused filament fabrication 3D printer. I made my model small just because it was easier to work with in miniature.
