EASTER KINTSUGI BUNNY EGG Decorative Object Seasonal Edition Published by 3D Print Official Inspired by: The Japanese art of Kintsugi (金継ぎ) and the philosophy of visible repair. Celebrate imperfection this Easter with a printable ornament that fuses traditional Japanese craft with modern maker techniques. Easter Kintsugi (金継ぎ) — Bunny Egg is a decorative tabletop piece designed to print without supports for clean layer lines and crisp detail. The model was conceived to highlight the Japanese art of kintsugi (金継ぎ / kintsukuroi) — the practice of repairing broken pottery with lacquer and gold, turning breaks into features rather than flaws. Here I’ve translated that philosophy to 3D printing: the egg’s cracks are intentionally emphasized and finished with gold foil to create a refined, tactile contrast against smooth white PLA. This listing includes the 3MF profile (prefered to use it directly — it’s preconfigured with the orientation and settings that allow support-free printing). After printing, the gold foil is applied by hand with a brush and sealing size to produce an authentic kintsugi finish on the egg and the bunnies’ ears. 3MF project file (ready-to-print — use the uploaded profile) STL exports (if you prefer) Quick finishing notes on gold leaf/foil application Fabrication Protocol Manufacturing is executed directly from the uploaded 3MF profile. The object is oriented for support-free printing to preserve surface resolution and minimize post-processing artifacts. Recommended baseline parameters: • Material: White PLA • Layer height: 0.12–0.18 mm • Perimeters: 3 • Infill: 10–20% • Supports: None • Standard 0.4 mm nozzle Surface finishing is achieved through selective application of gilding adhesive using a fine brush, followed by gold foil transfer onto predefined fracture lines and ear extremities. Excess foil is removed by soft mechanical brushing. A transparent sealant may be applied to preserve metallic adhesion. Kintsugi rejects concealment.
