Personally, I don’t have a 3D printer, nor I know how to print in 3D. But I couldn’t resist this contest. Although, I have had 3D printed some parts for me by a third party many times. Designed and rendered in AutoCAD. The lamp consists of 2 parts; the base and the lampshade. The base has a hole through which to mount the light bulb fixture, and the lampshade just slights on top. The lampshade has very intricate shape, so that the light can bend in various directions. (The guy who does my 3D prints is very skilled, he can print them without a doubt). I saw an article (a post) on FDM printing with clear filament, so I decided to enter this contest with that kind of printing in mind. I tried to render the filament layers, with little success I might add. I wanted to represent my model as close as I could to the real print. The exact printing settings can be found here: https://www.printables.com/model/15310-how-to-print-glass and in a provided PDF. So if you like it, enjoy it.
