This is an enclosure to house a small ESP32 or ESP8266 module and a sensor module to monitor some aspect of the environment, allowing free flow of air through the case. The enclosure includes a removable mount to which a small battery (I used a 900mAh li-ion from a mobile phone) can be attached. Sending a data bundle every 10 minutes and sleeping in between, battery life between recharges is around 3 months.
I have also published a small enclosure for a BME280 which I am using as a remote sensor outside the greenhouse. this is at https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4857502.
The software for this is written in Annex RDS which is BASIC for ESP32 and ESP8266. Much more accessible than C++ for anyone looking to get into IOT programming. The language natively supports many common devices and support from the creator a
