Via the Planetary-Gear's Gear-Ratio (of 1:5) and if using Quadrature Encoder Code, it multiplies the Encoder's pulse by 5 x 4.
Thus, for a 600ppr Encoder:
600_Pulses/Rev x 5 x 4 = 12,000 Pulses/Rev
In terms of Encoder's Degrees: 360°/12,000 = 0.03°/Pulse
I Dialed-In the Planetary Gearing to achieve Smoothness and Zero-Backlash.
Similar Gears with/without Tapered (chamfered) Teeth are posted. Choose the ones that print best on your printer... The Chamfering on the teeth helps eliminate the Elephant-Foot thus, reduce the amount of filing/sanding...
One part is a Cap with a 6mm D-Shape that may be useful. The Dcap press-fits onto the Driving-Gear.
When properly Filed/Sanded/Cleaned, smooth turning has similar sound and feel as the Scroll-Wheel on my Logitech Mouse.
600ppr Encoder with Arduino Code's (Quadrature), yields Direct Output shown in Video (12,000 Pulses for 360°).
For Demo, I setup only one column for Degrees (with Rollover limit of full 360°/rev).
