I made a small filament guide for the Ender 3. I wasn't happy with how sharply the filament bends going into the extruder. I believe this caused me some under-extrusion on very fine layer prints. This can also damage the hole where the filament goes into on older machines (newer ones have a brass insert). This also keeps the filament from touching the lead screw and getting grease into the nozzle.
Although not necessary, I highly recommend using a bowden tube coupling and a short piece of PTFE tubing to minimize drag and wear on the filament and parts. the thread is M6x1.0, since those were the couplings I had. I believe this is the standard thread size.
I'm still quite new to 3d modeling and have no training, so I'm sure the design can be improved. Feel free to do so.
