Thanks to the original creator of this simple optical filament runout sensor holder.. it uses the very common 3 wire optical end-stop sensor as a filmanet runout sensor.. a small piece of PTFE tube is inserted into each end of the holder and the board screwed on top.. If using this on an Ender 3 you will have to flash a bootloader and firmware to add support for the sensor if not already done so, the stock firmware doesn't have support.
This is exactly the same as the original design except I have offset the top half to move the filament holes to line up with my stock extruder.
The orignal design appears to use a metal type extruder, perhaps this or the Z axis offset was causing my misalignment.
If your filament entry hole in the extruder lines up almost exactly with the left screw for the Z axis nut then this part will give you a striaght filament path.. If your filament entry hole is between the Z screw and the left Z screw nut then the original part will probably work bett
