This is a spool holder for the ender 3 printer. It is designed to work with the metal bracket that comes with the printer. This allows for a spool holder that spins freely and does not require large amounts of filament to create.
All parts are 3d printed apart from 2x 6202 bearings.
I have provided two sizes of spool sizes as reels range in ID.
The spools can be printed vertically with no support.
The axle should be printed horizontally to maximise the strength, though this does require support.
The bearing have been designed with some clearance though may need a tab into position depending on printer set up.
I printed this in PLA and have not had any noises or issues from this design. It also almost eliminates tension at the extruder. This would wear out plastic extruders and could create uneven extrusion rates.
