Ender 5 is an amazing printer able to deliver very high quality but it needs some tuning. One of the things I did was to replace the bowden extruder by a cheap direct mod. It uses the same extruder stepper and metal extruder. Cable included was short no matter how I routed it, so I had to order an extension.
While playing with cables I realized that I want my printer clean and used a bunch of things like covers, guides, etc. For extruder cable and X axis I designed guides that work very fine and helps to keep Ender "untangled".
Printing:
Print with supports. I used PETG but PLA will work as well. I have used 40% infill but it's not required. 20-25% will work just as well.
X-axist end-stop uses the original screw and additional M4 with T-nut for better stability.
Extruder uses M3 screw to fix the guide in place. Cables are locked in place with ties, not very tight but not loose.
I used Capricorn tube to transport filament via guides to push fitting above the extruder. Lo
