The charm of an ePaper display is its capability to show something without any power and using power only when the display changes. This enables to make IoT or other displays don’t require an ugly power cord and needs to be charged only once for moths.
Unfortunately there aren’t too many such displays suitable for makes on the market. (https://blog.squix.org) & (https://www.tindie.com/products/cxandy/azsmz-epaper-29-with-usb-to-serial/?pt=ac_prod_search) introduced recently a 2.9” one.
