Equilifruit

The Equilifruit disk is a tool used to help manage crop load in precision agriculture. It was developed by the National Institute for Agricultural Research (INRA) in France. The Equilifruit disk has several uses, including:
Thinning strategy: The disk can be used to set a thinning strategy.
Decision aid: The disk can be used as a decision aid for field employees.
Spur extinction pruning: The disk can be used as a hand-held reference for spur extinction pruning.

The disc has 11 semi-circular notches of varying diameters from 8mm to 28mm. Each notch has 3 corresponding numbers:

1) the diameter in millimeters to measure limb diameter;
2) the F value indicating the number of fruit you should leave
3)the delta number indicating the plus / minus range from the F-value.
How to use:
Place the disc approximately 3 cm from trunk to avoid the collar. Find the correct notch for the limb. You want a snug fit, not a loose fit.
