The most evident reuse of a filament spool is to wind something else (cable or rope for example) on it!
If the spool is to large, that's not a big trouble but if it's to small ! Hopefully, eSun's spool are construct as 2 symmetrical parts that are not welded but screwed. They can be unscrewed, a propagator added and all be reassembled together. As additional parts you'll just need two M6×35mm screws and two M6 nuts.
The shape is hollowed, if you want it plain: use a "novoid" version. It also contain a support for screw holes, if you don't want it: use a "nosupport" version.
