The Evil Twin is a puzzle that appears to be a 3x3 Rubik's Cube, but is actually made by fusing two 2x2 puzzles at a corner, and then adding extra cubies to give the appearance of a 3x3. The first puzzle of this type was made by Mike Grimsley in 2005. The example here was made by fusing and extending 24mm 2x2s with 3D-printed extensions. I designed these extensions myself (in 2018), and invite you to print them yourself and make your own copy. This is a really fun and interesting puzzle, and I had a great time solving it.
This puzzle was featured on my review series, "Print It Yourself". For an overview of how the puzzle was made and how it turns, check out the episode: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W10LlpkabKo
