Face Mask Accessory

This face mask air control accessory has two purposes. The first is to reduce fogging of glasses. The second is to provide fresh, dry, non-mixed air to the nose.

It is a comfort device designed to help you keep your mask on. The air filtering function is done by the mask material. This is an air-control accessory.

The accessory works underneath a standard cloth mask. A one-way intake valve sucks air from over your right cheek into a nose tube. Fresh air passes into your nose. Air blown out of your nose passes through the nose tube, into a one-way exhaust valve and down onto your left cheek. The mouth is left free for speech.

The valves are held onto the nose piece with #4 x5/8" sheet metal screws. The valves' diaphragms are made from 3/4" discs punched from the flat sides of used milk jugs (polyethylene).
