Once they strode at the head of a legendary vanguard; now their likeness lies in stone or ceramite atop tombs, in ruined chapels, and beneath shattered banners. Pilgrims and soldiers touch the statue’s greaves for luck, whispering that when the realm’s need is greatest, the true warrior it depicts will rise again to reclaim their armor.
