# This noisy fan sucks!
The fan for the external cooling of the ventilation management system is extremely loud.
In my case, the lower mounting points of this fan were also broken. So i looked for a way to reattach the fan. I used this opportunity to test different fans.
I achieved the best results with an ebmpabst 5950. I was able to reduce the volume from over 60 dBA to down below 46 dBA (Distance 50 cm in front of the printer).
The mounting braces used here are equipped with additional air deflectors to improve the flow. In the original state, there is a pneumatic short circuit (what was Raise3D thinking?)
# Assembly
The lower strut is screwed to the inner fan cover with 4 screws - see photos. The rest should be self-explanatory.
# The Electrical Challenge
Unfortunately, the new fan is operated at 230 VAC, which requires an additional electronic circuit for operation. A description will follow ...
