A Rapid Manufactured face shield for supplementary COVID-19 PPE.

This face shield headband is designed for fabrication on a laser cutter.

This design includes slots for an adjustable strap, eliminating the need for an elastic. The strap shown in the images is 0.015” vinyl sheet that was purchased as “drawer liner”.

To reuse and sterilized, the clear film can be snapped on and off multiple times. The components are all solid plastic and able to be washed in temperatures up to 85C. (We will be shipping these face shields with multiple sheets of clear film per headband)

The face shield film is based on a 10.5” x 12” sheet of 0.010” Polycarbonate. 6 holes are punched across the top using a standard 3-hole punch – based on the 3DVerkstan Design. I chose this sheet size based on a large supply of locally available materials. The larger sheet size also provides better coverage over the neck and cheeks.
