My first experiment with OpenSCAD! Woo.
My filament box. Apparently I'm not the first one to think of using a Sterilite airtight box as a base. Master plan is to dispense filament from the box, but right now I don't have enough desk space for the box and my printer to be side-by-side.
Other supplies needed:
- Sterilite 20Qt Air Tight Storage Tote: http://www.target.com/p/sterilite-air-tight-storage-tote-transparent-with-aquarium-blue-latch-20qt/-/A-15066036
- 3/4" PVC pipe: I picked up a 2' length from Home Depot and cut to size.
- 8x M3 screws and nuts. I used 12mm-long ones, but those were longer than necessary.
Instructions:
- Print 2x of fbox-pvc-holder and fbox-back-plate.
- Put on opposite sides of the Sterilite box
- Put spools on PVC pipe
- Drop PVC pipe in center
Noob mistakes:
- Probably should have rotated the screw holes 45 degrees so there isn't one directly above the PVC receptacle. Oh well. With 12mm screws they're not interfering too much...
