Whilst I liked the idea of the filament detector on my CR10s, I soon got fed up with it constantly coming adrift as the height of the filament changed as the models grew.
Not wishing to fix it permanently by gluing or bolting on various fixtures etc. I drew up this little bracket on Fusion360,
It sits over 2 of the frame-spacers & is held by a couple of zip-ties, I did it this way as I didn't wish to partially strip the frame parts to fit it if the bracket had 2 holes instead of the 2 channels.
It serves several issues,
1 : the 'spigot' at the top abuts the filament detector & prevents it coming off the motor plate,
2 : the 'inlet' hole for the filament is 'funneled' allowing for various angles of feed,
3 : the hole diameter is big enough to allow easy manual feeding through all 3 components.
4 : the hole is also big enough to insert a ptf tube if required.
I've been using this for several months without problems & I feel its made a big difference to the machines operation
