This is a minimalist filament holder with integrated tool storage, designed to sit neatly on your desk or next to your printer. The goal of this design was to create something that feals clean, stable and intensional, without unnecassary parts or visual noise. It uses 608 bearings for smooth filament rotation and includes a recessed storage area underneath for small tools or accessories. Key features: Designed for standard 200 mm filament spools Uses 608 bearings for low friction and smooth rotation Integrated tool storage in the base Stable footprint Clean geometry with soft transitions and no decorative clutter Optimized for easy printing and assembly Design philosophy: This model is intentionally simple. It is meant to look good even when not printing, blending into a clean workspace instead of looking like a temporary tool. Print and Assembly Notes: Recommended material: PLA or PETG Prints as separate parts Uses standard 608 bearings Filament roller pin can be printed or replaced with a metal rod i preferred V2 Update: Reworked tool storage with a pull-out drawer for easy acces while filament is loaded Lowered filament roller pins for a lower centre of gravity and improved stability Filament roll is now centered on the base, allowing room for a future lid or enclosure Optimized design using approximately 15% less filament and printing about 1.5 hours faster than V1 Using the same roller pins and 608 bearings as V1 (no additional hardware required) Minimal supports required, only in the drawer opening area Optional V2 drawer fitment test files included (drawer part and base part) I’m always looking to improve as a designer, so constructive criticism is very welcome. If you have ideas, improvements or notice something that could be done better, feel free to share.
