Filament Spool Ornament

This Filament Spool Ornament started as a simple idea and turned into one of my favorite designs. I made a lot of prototypes to get the fit and proportions just right, adjusting clearances, tweaking the spokes, and refining the shape until everything snapped together perfectly and felt like a true miniature filament spool. I designed the file so anyone can print it. You can print the spool in a single color if you do not have an AMS, or you can print it in two colors, three colors, or even four for a fully customized look. Each section of the filament layers was modeled so you can easily swap colors or keep it simple depending on your setup. I also wanted the ornament to include as much 3D printing imagery as possible. Instead of using a regular hook, I designed a small extruder nozzle connector that allows you to use an actual piece of filament as the loop for hanging.
