I recently discovered that leftover cat litter buckets make very good filament storage containers, with each one holding 5 standard 1Kg spools. They are compact for their volume and stackable. The only problem was that I couldn't see what filaments were in each bucket, so I had to unstack and open each one until I found the filament I was looking for. I alleviated this a little by labeling the filament type (PLA/ABS, etc.) with a Sharpie marker, but that still required me to open and dig for any specific color. I didn't want to write the colors on the buckets because they were likely to change. If only I had something the same color as my filament to attach to the outside... My solution was to design this filament index that can be glued to the outside of any storage container. It has 5 horizontal tracks with clips that will each hold a sample of standard filament securely. This model is designed to be printed without supports (standing on end) and at high quality (.08 Fine). P
