This is a small part that I designed to hold Adafruit USB-C Breakout Board (Product ID: 4090, https://www.adafruit.com/product/4090) in order to facilitate converting a keyboard or other device to a USB-C connection. There is a small recess to allow for the USB cable to pass from the breakout board to the device internally without sitting above the adapter. I've also created a small window on the bottom of the adapter to allow clearance for the USB cable solder points so the PCB will sit flush on the floor of the adapter. The two posts you see on the part fit the screw holes on the Adafruit USB-C breakout board perfectly. Once soldered and ready, you can melt and press those posts to hold the PCB in like an OEM setup would have.

The keyboard I performed this modification on was a Filco Majestouch 104-key mechanical keyboard that had issues with the hardwired USB cable at the strain relief on the keyboard itself. The cable had been very firmly pinched for years and finally broke
