I've been having an issue with the fish tank filter intake filter for years and ended having to clean it every 2 weeks or so. I made this intake filter to replace the original filter on the Emperor Bio-wheel 400 power filter and have been loving it ever since. It is able to capture floating debris but won't clog for a long time. It is also much easier to remove the debris from this filter compared with the original filter.
It is designed to be printed from the bottom of the filter up to the filter connector (The same orientation that it is in when it is installed in the fish tank) without supports in natural ABS.
CAUTION: Only use natural ABS without any pigments as they can be toxic to the fish. Don't use PLA as it will dissolve into mush after a few weeks. Even with natural ABS, soak the part in a bowl of water for at least a few hours before installing in the tank to remove any possible leachants.
