Flag Football Socket Expander

As a technology education teacher as well as a flag football coach, I have a wide variety of options to solve problems. One of those problems is that the sockets in our Flag-a-tag flags get compressed and start to slip. This causes two problems. One, the flags are very easy to pull out, and two, some times the flags fall out all on their own.

That's where this project comes into play. You can insert each end of the expander into the male-connector of the flags, which, if printed at 100% scale, will expand a compressed flag to it's nominal size.

That being said, I printed our set at 105% to expand the connectors for a tighter fit. Cheating? Maybe, but no matter how tight the flag is in the belt, it's not going to speed up my slooooow team.
